So it's not surprising to me that the AI is struggling. I need a little of this, a little of that, oh hell, let's just build everything. There's just too much too do to get a good feel for what to do. After five playthroughs on epic pace I'm still struggling for effective strategies. I play mostly just to build since the AI has never been particularly challenging to beat.

The real question is if the cost trade-off in terms of resources (your CPU, time taken / turn, cost to code etc etc) is worth it.įor $90, someone somewhere thought it didn't matter. However, the idea that games cannot progress and/or computers cannot get better at playing them is demonstrably false. So, logically, it can be said that Civ:BE AI < Civ:BNW in complexity, although it will play the same. they weren't modified, just stripped out - being one of them (which is fairly weird, given that it's still a core mechanic of the game.).
There's also strong proof that a lot of the weightings were stripped out, because Civ:BE no longer supports features that Civ:BNW had. I've actually looked into the AI code, and sadly there are indications that the team were going to do something more than Civ:V, but didn't for some reason.
